Direct Line Group announces the resignation of Mark Catton as a Non-executive Director

Direct Line Insurance Group plc (the "Company") announces that Mark Catton has resigned as a Director of the Company with effect from today. Mr Catton was one of the two directors previously nominated by The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc ("RBS Group").

Mr Catton's resignation follows the sale by RBS Group of 28.2% of the issued shares of the Company, announced on 3 March 2014.  In accordance with the Relationship Agreement between RBS Group and the Company dated 28 September 2012, RBS Group's entitlement to appoint Non-executive Directors to the Board of the Company has now ended.

The Company's Chairman, Mike Biggs, thanked Mr Catton for his contribution to the Board during his time as a Director.
