Direct Line Group Announces the Resignation of Mark Catton as a Non-Executive Director

Direct Line Insurance Group plc (the "Company") announces that Mr Mark Catton has resigned as a Director of the Company at the Company's Board meeting today, 26 April 2013. 

This follows the reduction in the shareholding by The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc ("RBS Group") in the Company to less than 50% on 13 March 2013.  As a result of such reduction in shareholding, the number of non-executive directors that RBS Group is entitled to nominate to the Board of the Company under its Relationship Agreement with the Company dated 26 September 2012 has reduced from two to one. Mr. Catton was one of the two directors previously nominated by RBS Group.

The Company's Chairman, Mr Mike Biggs, thanked Mr Catton for his contribution to the Board during his time as a Director.
