• Production pipeline installation complete

Verus Investments Ltd (Verus; ASX code: VIL) is pleased to announce that commercial production at its Fausse Point Project commenced late Friday, June 4[th] . As previously advised, Fausse Point # 1 well was drilled to its target depth of 8,475’ in mid January. Numerous zones of interest were encountered across three intervals from 7,000’. “Since that time, our partner Golden Gate Petroleum (ASX:GGP) have secured land access and installed the pipeline and necessary production facilities to commence production,” Verus Chairman, Andrew McIlwain said.

This heralds the start of gas sales and long awaited cash flow from Fausse Point . Importantly, this production is simply from the lowest 10’ of the well and production testing now that the offtake facilities are in place will commence in earnest. We are really excited to see what we have in Fausse Point #1 well,” Mr. McIlwain said.

“Verus is now looking to the commencement of the drilling at the Bongo Prospect and final determination on the plan for Fausse Point #2 well.”

GGP have reported initial flow rates of 1 million cubic feet of gas per day (1MMcfd), and current production rates of 750,000 cu ft per day with 13 barrels of high grade condensate. Flow rates have not stabilized as yet. The well will be tested at various flow rates on different choke sizes over the coming days to determine the optimal production levels from this lowest of six potential hydrocarbon bearing zones identified in the well.

Ongoing Evaluation of the lowermost interval:

Ongoing work is being conducted on the initial well data complimented by additional information including more seismic data on the Fausse Point salt dome. This ongoing work will provide a better understanding of the discovery and an indication of the potential size, it will also allow us to determine the best sites to drill development/appraisal wells.

As announced previously, analysis to date indicates that the lowest zone (8,370 feet) is possibly connected to a much larger hydrocarbon accumulation, and that this well has only just penetrated the edge of this larger accumulation. Whilst this zone was completed for production, it was not an original target and has the potential to represent a new play type. The two primary target objectives of the well that were intercepted at the shallower depths and were hydrocarbon bearing will also be evaluated from the added seismic data and tested in due course.

Fausse Point has been an extremely interesting and challenging well in that it has discovered hydrocarbons over multiple levels which is encouraging, and determining the potential will take time and patience.
