DEXUS Property Group (ASX: DXS) sells Canadian property
DEXUS Pro p erty Group t oday announced the sale of its 70,100 square metre Toront o warehous e facility for C$78.7 m illion.
DEXUS Chief Executive O fficer, Vic t or Hoog An t ink comme n ted: “The s a le price ac h ieved represents excellent v a lue for DEXUS investors in a marke t environme n t which is s e eing dema n d push asset values to historical h i ghs. The C$78.7 million sale repres e nts a 13% premium to t h e Decemb e r 2010 book value of C$69.4 million, a 10% premium to t h e original c ost price of the propert y and a selli n g yield of 5 .9%.
The proper t y, leased t o Whirlpool, was our onl y Canadian i n vestment. D EXUS enjo y s a close an d long standing re l ationship with Whirlpo o l Corporati o n, who continue to leas e five of our major prop e rties representing 26% of ou r US portfoli o by value.”
Proceeds fr o m the sale will be use d to repay d e bt and are n ot expecte d to have a m aterial im p act on earnings.
