Deutsche Lufthansa AG: Lufthansa improves first-quarter net result to -98 million euros

The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. —————————————————————————— The Lufthansa Group closed the first quarter 2006 with revenue of 4.4 billion euros (Q1 2005: 3.9 bn euros) and an operating result of -75 million euros (Q1 2005: -26m euros). The net result for the quarter totaled -98 million euros (Q1 2005: -116m euros). When comparing these figures with those of the previous year, the enlarged group of consolidated companies through inclusion of the stake acquired in AirTrust (SWISS Holding) in May 2005 and the companies in the Eurowings group have to be taken into account. Lufthansa will publish detailed information on its First Interim Financial Statements 2006 on May 11th, 2006.
