The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. —————————————————————————— The Lufthansa Group closed the first quarter of 2005 with an operating loss of -EUR26m. This compares with an operating loss in the first quarter of 2004 of -EUR116m. From January to March 2005 the Group generated EUR3.9bn in revenue and returned a net loss of -EUR116m. When comparing these figures with the net profit of EUR62m for the first quarter of 2004, the subsequent sale of parts of the company and book profits of EUR292m from the sale of a stake in Amadeus must be taken into account.
