In its meeting today, the Supervisory Board of Deutsche Lufthansa AG named
the Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board, Christoph Franz, as the
successor to Wolfgang Mayrhuber, the current Chairman of the Executive
Board and CEO of Deutsche Lufthansa AG. The appointment will be effective
from 1 January 2011, for a term until 31 May 2014 in accordance with German
stock corporation law. Carsten Spohr was also appointed to the Executive
Board as of 1 January 2011, for a term of three years. Being responsible
for Lufthansa German Airlines he will also chair the Lufthansa German
Airlines Executive Board. As his successor for the position of Chairman and
CEO at Lufthansa Cargo AG, Karl Ulrich Garnadt was proposed. He is
currently a member of the Lufthansa German Airlines Executive Board with
responsibility for Hub Management and Passenger Services.
