De.mem Secures Further Purchase Orders Worth A$200,000

Highlights

  • De.mem secures further contracts in Queensland, Australia worth approximately A$200,000

  • De.mem will deliver a containerized sludge dewatering system and membranes for a Reverse Osmosis water treatment plant to be deployed at the Amrun mining project in Queensland

4 December 2017: Water and waste water treatment company De.mem (ASX:DEM) (“De.mem” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce that it has secured new contracts worth approximately A$200,000. The projects have been awarded to the company’s 100% owned subsidiary Akwa-Worx Pty Ltd (“Akwa-Worx”), Caboolture, Queensland, Australia.

The contracts include the delivery of a containerized sludge dewatering system to Bechtel Australia Pty Ltd (“Bechtel”). The system aims to reduce sludge volumes and, as a result, disposal cost. It will be deployed at Rio Tinto’s Amrun project between Weipa and Amrukun, Queensland. Furthermore, the projects also include the delivery of Reverse Osmosis membranes for deployment in a water treatment plant at the same mining site.

The containerized sludge dewatering system will make use of advanced automation technologies by De.mem group. The execution of the order starts immediately.

Rio Tinto’s Amrun project is a A$2.6 billion bauxite project currently underway in Queensland’s Cape York Peninsula. Bechtel is the engineering, procurement and construction (EPCM) manager for the project.

Andreas Kroell, Chief Executive Officer of De.mem: “These contract awards with such a reputable customer from the Australian mining industry show our leading position in this segment. With the mining industry looking at an upturn in the years ahead, we offer a comprehensive and high-quality range of products and solutions for our clients. This is not only relevant for our activities in Australia, but also provides a strong foundation for our ongoing expansion into other countries which have a large mining sector, such as China.”
