Blomberg, 03 September 2008 – Delignit AG (ISIN DE000A0MZ4B0), leading
manufacturer of ecological products and system solutions on the basis of
the natural wood material Delignit, achieved an operating performance of
23.1 million Euros in the 1st half year 2008. 23.4 million Euros were
achieved in the comparable period for the previous year. The results for
the subsidiary company Cildro Pro-Forma have been fully consolidated in the
previous year’s figures. Turnover rose by about 3 percent to 21.4 million
Euros, after 20.8 million Euros in the 1st half year 2007. The EBITDA was
2.7 million Euros after 3.6 million Euros in the previous year’s period.
The EBIT was 1.7 million Euros after a prior 2.4 million Euros in the first
6 months 2007. This means that the EBIT margin was 7.5 percent, after
around 10.2 percent had been achieved in the 1st half year 2007. With a net
income for the year of 0.9 million Euros after a prior 1.4 million Euros,
the result per share for the 1st half year 2008 is 0.14 Euro. The
corresponding previous year’s value was 0.22 Euro.
In the business division Technological Applications the sector Industrial
Floors stood out by showing a particularly pleasing increase in turnover.
A good development was also shown by special technical applications, as
well as the Automotive sector where interior outfits are supplied for light
utility vehicles. The technical standard applications as well as Cildro,
the previous year’s very profitable subsidiary, showed declining turnover
due to the general sector trend. In the business division sliced veneers
the production slots booked long-term by customers were only partially
utilised to capacity.
Delignit has used the past months to position itself for the expected
further growth. In addition to capacity expansion, the focus was on
expanding international business. In the 1st half year sales partnerships
were concluded in Italy and Turkey. The product range was also rounded off
with innovative new developments including some for rail vehicle and
utility vehicles. For the very first time, an OEM customer could be won for
Delignit technology in the sector of trailer manufacturers. It was possible
to conclude a contract as series supplier. The delivery start has been
anticipated for the autumn of 2008.
The half-yearly report will be available in the Internet for download from
12 September 2008 in the section Investor Relations under www.delignit.de.
