The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– DCI AG reports continued earnings improvement – Publication of figures for the first nine months and the third quarter of 2002 Starnberg, November 11, 2002. The operating earnings of DCI AG for the first nine months of the 2002 fiscal year showed positive development. EBIT gained 80.1% to minus 7,923 KEuro (prior-year period: minus 39,784 KEuro). The EBITDA loss was reduced by 64.4% from the nine-month prior-year figure of minus 14,336 KEuro (2001) to the nine-month figure of minus 5,103 KEuro (2002). Sales revenue for the months from January to September 2002 came to 10,334 KEuro (10.5% lower than the prior-year figure of 11,548 KEuro). Cash consumption was reduced yet again: The cash burn rate for the third quarter of 2002 was 1.6 million Euro, or 11.1% less than in the second quarter of 2002 (1.8 million Euro). Compared to the third quarter of 2001, cash consumption fell by 72% (Q3/2001: 5.7 million Euro). As of September 30, 2002 the company held net cash of 7,703 KEuro. The positive development of operating earnings resulted from the strict cost management practiced by DCI AG, with actions including targeted workforce reductions and a sharp decrease in marketing expenses. DCI AG will continue to adapt its cost structure to the prevailing economic conditions. With cash funds of 7.7 million Euro, the financial situation of DCI AG is solid. Also in the third quarter, DCI AG continued to focus on sales promotion solutions specifically in the area of “catalog-based purchasing”. Both the DCI MultiCrossCatalog and the innovative new trade show information systems SYSTEMS eCatalogs and electronica eCatalogs were very well received in the market, so that the sales revenue generated in this segment increased from the second quarter of 2002 to the third quarter of 2002. For the coming quarters, DCI AG is counting on continued revenue growth particularly in this segment.
