Appointment of Mr Jonathan King to the Board

The Board of Conto Resources Limited (Conto or the Company)(ASX:CNO) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Jonathan King to the Board as an alternate director to Mr Rob Jewson.

Mr King is an exploration geochemist with extensive exploration experience across a broad range of commodities and jurisdictions. Mr King has been involved in the discovery of a number of gold deposits in Western Australia and more recently has been heavily involved in the development and successful marketing of opportunities in the resource sector to overseas investors.

Mr King brings with him twenty-two years experience in exploration geochemistry and geology and is responsible for several major mapping, technical evaluation and geochemistry reinterpretation projects for greenfields and near-mine target generation and exploration programs in Korea, Fiji, China, Africa, Indonesia, and Australia.

Extensive field work in regolith geology and geochemistry at active mining centres has led Mr King to important new ways of understanding regolith evolution, the distribution of metals in the regolith profile, and its application for exploration success. Mr King was instrumental in the discovery of a gold deposit at the Wallbrook prospect, Edjudina, and extensions to existing resources at the Sunrise Deposit, Granny Smith Mine, Laverton.

Mr King is experienced in all aspects of exploration geology and management. Currently Mr King provides strategic advice and services in regolith geology/geochemistry to a number of junior exploration companies, and has provided exploration advice to companies such as Placer Dome, Barrick Gold, Rio Tinto, Robe River Mining and Associates, Gold Fields Australasia, St Ives Gold Mining Company, BC Iron, Harmony Gold, Troy Resources, Ashburton Minerals, Jackson Gold, and Resource Mining Corporation.

Mr King is a member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientist (AIG) and is a Competent Person as defined in the 2004 Edition of the “Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves” (the JORC Code).
