Chairman’s Address to Annual General Meeting Of Dateline Resources Limited Thursday 14 November 2019
AGM’s normally seek to provide a detailed review of the activities of the last 12 months and provide detail of prospects and plans for the year ahead.
We will do this, but the timing of this AGM is not quite synchronised with some other matters:
-
The resource we are interested in is about 38 million years old. Understanding this resource is growing, but we are still building our understanding and a comprehensive geological model.
-
Seasonality plays a part. Heavy snow in Gunnison means we can no longer conduct drilling at the upper levels of our Gold Links property. Assay results are still outstanding and then the results must be interpreted.
-
Our program is a continuing one, so at this AGM we will give you a detailed overview of where Dateline is now and where we would like to take the company in the next 12 months.
-
But, as our Managing Director Steve Baghdadi and Director Greg Hall will tell you shortly, information which will be available in the near term will almost certainly affect our plans.
-
Across all our holdings we are using, where it is appropriate, a variety of tools including induced polarisation, electromagnetic surveys, geochemistry and detailed geological mapping. We have conducted an extensive drilling program but, as mentioned, some results are still outstanding. We need to process, absorb, and analyse all this information before preparing and committing to a development plan for our properties.
Nevertheless, we now know a good deal about the characteristics of the Gold Links narrow vein system. We have established that the targeted gold bearing veins are continuous between well-defined faults. The veins that bear the high grade occur in chutes ( or “shoots” ), which run vertically through the veins in a roughly symmetrical pattern.
As more information becomes available a major step to be assessed could be development of a decline to access and mine selected veins in the Gold Links system.
We will also be working on other priorities, in view of the very recent information on the Lucky Strike area. This has led us to peg a further 800 acres (approximately) of what we regard as highly prospective ground, bringing our total land holdings to around 3,000 acres.
So, Dateline will not be idle in the North American winter. We will be bringing a great deal of information together for assimilation and analysis. Right now we have multiple options, and our task is to determine which option or options should provide the best outcomes for our shareholders.

We have some advantages in conducting this analysis. Gold Links and Green Mountain are permitted for mining and transport, and our mill has operated very successfully and produced a high quality concentrate in trials. We can concentrate on moving towards mine development, without needing to make abstract plans for upstream permitting and infrastructure.
At this meeting we also need to deal with the statutory matters and the resolutions contained in the Notice of Meeting for this AGM.
I intend to deal with these matters now, with the presentations from Steve and Greg to follow. After we have discussed them, all the resolutions will be decided by a poll, which will give us the most accurate outcome. Our auditors are here to conduct the poll, and I expect to give you the results before the meeting closes.
