Launch of DataDot National Equipment Register

The Directors of DataDot Technology Limited (ASX:DDT) are pleased to announce the launch of the DataDot National Equipment Register (“NER”).

The DataDot NER is an on-line database (www.nationalequipmentregister.com) that provides immediate confirmation of the identity and ownership of registered industrial assets. It has particular application in mining and construction sites, public transport, road haulage and the power industry where losses from the theft of tools, plant and equipment are extensive.

A major reason for these high theft rates is that criminals are confident of escaping conviction because the ownership of stolen industrial assets is difficult to prove to the degree required by the courts. This is due largely to the fact that currently there are not any State or federal registers dedicated to this class of assets.

The DataDot NER will present a strong deterrent to criminals by enabling law enforcement to identify stolen assets and their rightful owners and so secure convictions.

Asset identification and ownership confirmation using the DataDot NER is simple, inexpensive and instantaneous. By combining the use of a simple mobile phone app with the micro-asset marking properties of DataDotDNA, it provides immediate in-field verification even in remote locations.
