Australian Customs and Border Protection Service Adopts assetDNA™

The Directors of DataDot Technology Limited (ASX:DDT) announce that assetDNA™ has been adopted by the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service as its Arms Inventory Management System. assetDNA™ will provide realtime tracking of Customs and Border Protection’s extensive armoury, which comprises approximately 6,000 weapons and personal defence equipment geographically dispersed among 37 land-based and 11 vessel armouries.

assetDNA™, a jointly promoted brand under an unincorporated joint venture agreement between DDT and Relegen Pty Limited, combines DDT products and intellectual property with Relegen’s assetDNA™ asset intelligence software to identify, track and manage assets over their life cycles.

The solution adopted by the Australian Customs and Border Protection Service combines Relegen’s software and multi-layer tags, utilising DDT’s DataTraceDNA™ and HID Global’s Logi Tag® and IN Tag solutions.

Mr Ben Bootle, CEO of DDT, said that the decision by Customs and Border Protection to utilise the assetDNA™ system confirmed assetDNA™ as a state-ofthe-art asset intelligence system.

Mr Paul Bennett, Managing Director of Relegen, said that the asset intelligence system provides the ability to connect thousands of real-world assets with corporate information and give Customs and Border Protection’s Central Office an accurate and real-time view.

In addition to tracking weapons and personal defence equipment, the new system will provide a wide range of ancillary benefits. It will enable Customs and Border Protection to better protect the safety of their officers, improve security in the issue and receipt of weapons and improve staff productivity. Security features ensure that assets are issued and received by officers with appropriate training and authority, and data-driven audit trails provide accurate information of who received what and when.
