Hyundai seleziona il Gruppo Danieli per la fornitura della parte "upstream" relativa al nuovo polo siderurgico che realizzerà negli Stati Uniti

Il gruppo coreano Hyundai ha scelto il Gruppo Danieli come "technological partner" per il progetto di realizzazione di un nuovo impianto produttivo green negli Stati Uniti, nello Stato della Louisiana. A Danieli è stata affidata la fornitura delle quattro unità produttive che trasformeranno il minerale di ferro in bramme di acciaio di qualità, destinate alla produzione di materiale ad alto valore aggiunto e fondamentali per l'alimentazione degli stabilimenti Hyundai Motors già presenti nel Paese.

Il valore totale dei contratti affidati a Danieli ammonta a circa 650 milioni di USD e prevede la fornitura di un impianto di riduzione diretta (tecnologia ENERGIRON® sviluppata congiuntamente con Tenova S.p.A.), due forni fusori elettrici e relativa metallurgia secondaria, due colate bramme per alti spessori, e due forni di riscaldo per bramme. Si tratta di tecnologie di ultima generazione, progettate per la produzione di acciai "automotive exposed" e beni di consumo durevoli, materiali ad altissime prestazioni e basso impatto ambientale, destinati ai componenti esterni delle vetture, per i quali qualità ed affidabilità rappresentano requisiti essenziali.

Con questo progetto, Hyundai punta ad incrementare la produzione siderurgica, con una quota significativa negli Stati Uniti, rafforzando la sua presenza industriale nel mercato nordamericano e garantendo una supply chain più vicina al settore automotive locale.

Con questa iniziativa, Hyundai e Danieli confermano la volontà di collaborare su progetti ad alto contenuto tecnologico e strategico, consolidando ulteriormente il rapporto tra i due gruppi e ponendo le basi per future collaborazioni nel mercato globale dell'acciaio.

Hyundai selects the Danieli Group to supply the "upstream" portion of the new steelmaking complex to be built in the United States

The Korean group Hyundai has chosen Danieli Group as its technological partner for the construction of a new green steel production plant in the United States, in the state of Louisiana. Danieli has been entrusted with supplying the four production units that will transform iron ore into high quality steel hot slabs, intended for the production of high value added materials essential for supplying Hyundai Motors' existing facilities in the country.

The total value of the contracts awarded to Danieli amounts to approximately 650 million USD and includes the supply of a direct reduction plant (ENERGIRON® technology, developed jointly with Tenova S.p.A.), two electric arc furnaces with related secondary metallurgy, two thick slab casters, and two slab reheating furnaces. These are state of the art technologies designed for the production of "automotive exposed" steel grades and durable consumer goods—materials with extremely high performance and low environmental impact—intended for external car components manufacturing, where quality and reliability are mandatory requirements.

With this project, Hyundai aims to increase its steel production, with a significant share in the United States, strengthening its industrial presence in the North American market and ensuring a supply chain closer to the local automotive sector.

Through this initiative, Hyundai and Danieli reaffirm their intention to collaborate on projects with high technological and strategic value, further consolidating the relationship between the two groups and laying the groundwork for future partnerships in the global steel market development.
