Appointment of Non-Executive Director

Cyan appoints Software and Telecoms expert Stephen Newton as Non-Executive Director

Cyan Holdings plc (AIM:CYAN.L), the integrated system and software design company delivering wireless solutions for utility metering and  lighting control, announces that Stephen Newton has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director of the Company with immediate effect.

Stephen has over 25 years' experience of business development within the telecommunications sector following a successful career in management, sales and marketing. In particular, he was non-executive director of Datanomic which was acquired by Oracle in 2011 and part of the management team that built Geneva Technology, a private software company selling billing solutions to the communications industry, where he worked from first customers to its acquisition in 2001 by Convergys of Cincinnati, Ohio for $700m.

Stephen was recently appointed an honorary Ambassador for the Telemanagement Forum and is chairman of the advisory board to AsiaInfo-Linkage-China, the leading provider of business support solutions to the Chinese telecoms market. AsiaInfo-Linkage has 10,000 staff in China and is currently setting up its European HQ in Cambridge, which will be the hub of its expansion plans for the UK, Europe, Middle East and Africa.

As well as having significant sales and operational experience in the software, technology and telecoms sectors, Stephen is particularly experienced in growing small companies and has worked across Asia and South America.

Mr Stephen Jeffrey Newton is aged 59 and currently holds the following directorships and partnerships:

In addition he has held the following directorships and partnerships during the past five years:

·     Neustring FZE

·     Datanomic Group Limited

·     SRS Group Limited

Mr Newton does not currently hold any shares in, or options over shares in, the capital of the Company.

There is no further information in respect of Stephen Newton`s appointment required to be disclosed pursuant to paragraph (g) of Schedule 2 to the AIM Rules for Companies.
