Ctac lowers cost base

ICT services provider Ctac N.V. (Ctac) will lower its cost base, as the first half of 2011 has not shown the desired improvement in turnover and returns. Although the number of potential new projects did increase in this period, customers are currently postponing their investment decisions. This puts pressure on Ctac's financial results and has led the company to implement additional cost saving measures. These savings will be realized by terminating the employment of structurally non-deployable direct staff. Additionally, the company will adjust the indirect organisation to the size of the direct organisation.

The one-off restructuring charge will amount to EUR 1.0 million (gross) and will be accounted for in the first half of 2011. The operating result for the first half of 2011, including the restructuring charge will amount to approximately EUR 1.5 million negative.

Henny Hilgerdenaar, Chief Executive Officer at Ctac: "In the second quarter, we experienced a lower capacity utilisation due to reduced demand in the ICT industry. The measures we take will lead to an improvement of our capacity utilisation rate and an appropriate balance between the direct and indirect organisation. We will not have to compromise on our specialized in-house knowledge and we will keep on investing in our industry specific solutions. We remain well-positioned to benefit quickly from an improvement in demand of ICT services in Europe."

The degree of recovery in the second half of 2011 will depend largely on improvement of the ICT-services market. As long as customers postpone ICT projects, Ctac will focus more on secondment of its own staff.

Ctac will publish the interim results for the first half year on 31 August 2011 before trading hours.
