The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– CPU Softwarehouse AG Ad hoc report in accordance with §15 Securities Trading Act Provisional figures for the 1st half-year 2002 Augsburg, August 16th, 2002 The provisional business results reported by CPU Softwarehouse AG, Augsburg (security No. 545.430), for the 1st half-year 2002 indicate turnover to the sum of 3.8 mill. Euros (previous year 5,6 mill. Euros), as well as an EBITDA of minus 2.2 mill. Euros (previous year minus 2.9 mill. Euros) and an EBIT of minus 2.5 mill. Euros (previous year minus 6.8 mill. Euros). The EBIT-based result has therefore improved by 4.3 mill. Euros or 63%. With the overall weakness of the market in the financial services branch and the lasting slump on the stock market, no signs of any rapid resolution to this almost complete halt in investment can be detected (particularly in the investment branch), so that inexsys AG will fall well short of its notified turnover and operating result contribution. Despite further significant reduction in personnel costs of over 21%, CPU Softwarehouse AG will no longer be able to achieve the defined turnover and operating result targets for 2002. An annual result for 2002 of minus 3.3 mill. Euros (EBITDA) and turnover of 8.2 mill. Euros appears realistic. This means a reduction in the target turnover of 22%, coupled with a clear improvement in the EBITDA-based operating result of more than 50%, compared to the previous year. The final figures for the past six months of 2002 will be published by the company on August 21st 2002.
