The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– CPU Softwarehouse AG Ad hoc report in accordance with §15 Securities Trading Act CPU Softwarehouse AG sets its sights on break-even for the 4th quarter 2002 Augsburg, October 31st, 2002 Based on the preliminary results for the third quarter 2002, the CPU Softwarehouse AG (security no. 545430) executive board expects that CPU will achieve the forecasted break-even point (EBITDA basis) for the fourth quarter of this year. Despite the still bleak economic situation, coupled with the ongoing investment bottleneck – particularly in the financial services branch – the Augsburg software company is able to report a further significant improvement in the operating result. As of 30.09.2002, the preliminary CPU Softwarehouse AG results for the first nine months of the business year 2002 indicated turnover of 5.7 mill. Euros and an EBITDA to the sum of minus 2.7 mill. Euros (previous year minus 4.1 mill. Euros). The EBITDA-based result has therefore improved by 1.4 mill. Euros or 34%. On an EBIT basis, the increase even reaches 6.9 mill. Euros or almost 70%. This significant consolidation success was achieved through a well-targeted focus on customer requirements and continued emphasis on strict cost-saving measures.
