The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– CPU Softwarehouse AG Ad hoc report in accordance with §15 Securities Trading Act CPU Softwarehouse AG applies for segment change-over Augsburg, October 23rd, 2002 The CPU Softwarehouse AG (security no. 545430) executive and supervisory boards have reached a decision to leave the New Market (Neuer Markt) and undertake the corresponding change-over into the Regulated Market (Geregelter Markt). The Augsburg software company has submitted the relevant application to the Deutsche Börse AG. On November 11th CPU shares will be quoted for the first time on the Regulated Market. With this change in segment, CPU Softwarehouse AG is drawing the obvious consequences from the persistently desolate situation on the New Market. In its current constellation, the latter is unable to do justice to its mission as the driving force behind growth in the field of business innovation and investment. Even the planned re-segmentation of the stock market does not raise expectations of fast or particularly effective assistance. Both investors and companies are still forced, without fault on their own part, to bear the effects of painful asset erosion. The CPU Board also explained the change in segment with the company’s set target for the future – of a radical focus on core business and customer requirements – without wasting valuable resources on market management measures with little current target achievement.
