Board directorship change

Costain today announces that David McManus, non-executive director, has informed the Company that he intends to step down from the board with effect from the conclusion of Costain's Annual General Meeting to be held on 7 May 2020.  David will therefore not be standing for re-election at this year's AGM.  David's decision follows his appointment to the board and as chairman of Genel Energy plc with immediate effect, which was also announced today.  David has concluded that he should step down from the Costain board in order to allow him appropriate time to focus on this new commitment.  

Dr Paul Golby CBE, chairman, commented:

"I would like to thank David McManus for what will be 6 years of dedicated service to Costain, during which time he has made a very significant contribution to the board. I and all my colleagues have hugely appreciated his insight and wish him well for the future".
