Board Member & Chief Executive Officer Appointments
Exoma Energy Limited (ASX:EXE) is very pleased to advise that Dr Dave Mathew has joined the Board as a non executive Director and that Mr Rob Crook will take up the position of Chief Executive Officer in May 2010.
Dr Dave Mathew – Non Executive Director
Dr Mathew is presently an Executive Director of Arrow Energy in China. He has over 30 years experience in the coal seam gas and coal industries in Australia and internationally and was a cofounder of the CH4 Moranbah Gas Project in Queensland. Prior to his appointment to Arrow China, Dave also played an influential role in the growth and development of Arrow Energy’s Queensland CSG assets.
Dave is a past president of the Australian Coal Seam Gas Council and has extensive experience with co-development of CSG and Coal in Queensland having assisted in the formulation of regulations for co-development for the Queensland Government.
Mr Rob Crook – Chief Executive Officer
Mr Rob Crook has over 30 years broad experience in the energy industry. He has held a range of engineering, operations, commercial and senior management roles in the coal, conventional petroleum and coal seam gas sectors and has consulted on major projects in the electricity generation industry.
Rob was formerly Managing Director of QGC Limited, CFO of Petroz NL and a Partner at investment bank InterFinancial Limited. Most recently Rob was General Manager Subsurface with the petroleum consultancy group MBA Petroleum Consultants, a subsidiary of Advanced Well Technologies. MBA Petroleum Consultants were engaged last year to conduct an extensive technical review of Exoma’s Galilee tenements.
Rob’s particular interest is managing multi-disciplinary teams involved in complex grassroots exploration and appraisal projects and developing the technical and commercial infrastructure required for successful developments. He has had close involvement with a number of successful resource development projects, including the early development of CSG in the Surat Basin.
Chairman Brian Barker said “Dave’s wealth of experience and involvement in the Queensland CSG industry makes him an invaluable addition to the Board as an independent non executive Director. Similarly, as the Company enters a phase of intense exploration activity with multiple projects planned we are very pleased to have a person of Rob Crook’s caliber take up the demanding role of Chief Executive Officer.”
Exoma’s five ATPs cover over 26,000 km² comprising the largest contiguous tenement holding in the Galilee Basin and offer a substantial opportunity for development of multiple TCF Coal Seam and Shale Gas projects from the Permian coal measures and Toolebuc Formation.
