On October 23, 2012, BlackRock Inc., New York, U.S.A., informed us
according to Section 21, para. 1 of the German Securities Trading Act
(Wertpapierhandelsgesetz; 'WpHG') that its voting rights in Continental AG,
Vahrenwalder Str. 9, 30165 Hanover, Germany, have exceeded the 5% threshold
on October 17, 2012 and amounted to 5.003% (corresponding to 10,006,236
voting rights) on that day. Such voting rights are attributed to BlackRock
Inc. pursuant to Section 22, para. 1, first sentence, No. 6, in connection
with sentence 2 WpHG.
