On August 28, 2008 we were notified by Capital Research and Management
Company, Los Angeles, USA pursuant to section 21 (1) WpHG of the following:

On 26 August 2008, the stake of Capital Research and Management Company in
the voting rights in Continental AG, Vahrenwalder Straße 9, 30165 Hannover,
fell below the threshold of 3%. On that date, Capital Research and
Management Company held 2.87% in relation to all voting rights in
Continental AG (voting rights arising from 4,646,038 ordinary shares
(Stammaktien)). Continental AG has issued ordinary shares only.

2.87% of all voting rights in Continental AG (voting rights arising from
4,646,038 ordinary shares) were attributed to Capital Research and
Management Company pursuant to section 22 (1) sent. 1 no 6 WpHG.
