In the July 30 meeting of the Supervisory Board of Continental AG, Hanover,
a vote was taken on the termination by mutual consent of the appointment of
Dr. Karl-Thomas Neumann as the Executive Board chairman of Continental AG.
The necessary two-thirds majority was not achieved. As specified by law,
the conference committee convened. It did not arrive at a conclusion. A
further Supervisory Board meeting was called for August 12. A decision is
expected to be made at that meeting.
