Meeting today, the Supervisory Board of Continental AG, Hanover, appointed Manfred Wennemer (53) Chairman of the Executive Board. Wennemer replaces Dr. Stephan Kessel (47), who immediately relinquishes his seat on the Executive Board over dif-ferences concerning the strategic orientation of the corporation. Kessel is departing from the company on very amicable terms. Manfred Wennemer has been with the Continental Corporation since 1994. Since May 1, 1998 he has headed the ContiTech Group as member of the Executive Board of Continental AG. At the same time he held the post of Managing Director of ContiTech Holding GmbH. Dr. Wolfgang Ziebart (51) has been named Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board.
