Concurrent Technologies Plc

4th generation Intel® Core™ Processor AdvancedMC™

with RapidIO®

Concurrent Technologies Plc (the "Company"), a world leading specialist in the design and manufacture of high-end embedded computer products for critical applications in the defence, aerospace, telecommunications, transportation, scientific and industrial markets, is pleased to announce the launch of its latest single board AdvancedMC™ (AMC) computer.

The AM C1x/msd is our first high performance AMC processor board featuring the 4th generation Intel® Core™ processor combined with a RapidIO® bridge to deliver a low latency and scalable compute element. Fabric Interconnect Networking Software (FIN-S) is supported, allowing developers to create applications that transparently span clusters of AM C1x modules, utilising the internal RapidIO® interconnect for low latency, complemented with Ethernet links for ubiquitous connectivity.  This product will be ideal for distributed processing of large data sets using industry standard software, where each computer offers local computation and storage but all communicating with each other. Typical applications for this type of solution include wireless test and infrastructure, ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance), image recognition and database query, from the telecoms, defence and other markets that need High Performance Embedded Computing (HPEC) equipment.

Today, the Company will be demonstrating the use of this new technology within a multi-core cluster system based on the open standards Data Centre Compute and Networking (DCCN) solution, at the International Supercomputing Conference, Leipzig, Germany, as a member of the RapidIO Trade Association. While the product will appeal to our traditional markets and customer base, this event introduces the Company and its products to big data and analytic applications and markets.

Glen Fawcett, Managing Director, Concurrent Technologies Plc, commented:

"By demonstrating how easy it is to create cluster based HPEC solutions using our FIN-S interconnect software, we now have products that are highly appealing for use in big data applications within an embedded environment such as analytics and pattern recognition."
