Concurrent Technologies Plc

Product Launch

Two new VME processor boards

Concurrent Technologies Plc (the "Company"), a world leading specialist in the design and manufacture of high-end embedded computer products for critical applications in the defence, aerospace, telecommunications, transportation, scientific and industrial markets, is pleased to announce two new additions to its VME range of embedded processor boards.

The VP B1x/msd board incorporates 4th generation Intel® Core™ i7 processors. The headline variant of this board uses the quad-core i7 processor that features new instructions to enhance vector processing and security along with improved graphics capability. Variants are also offered for dual-core based performance and power optimised solutions. Rugged conduction cooled variants for harsher environments are expected later in 2015.

The VP E2x/msd board is based on the Intel® Atom™ processor family offering users a choice of low power consumption single-core or a performance orientated quad-core processor.  This board is available in a number of different operating temperature ranges and will also be available in a rugged conduction cooled variant for extreme environments encountered in military and aerospace applications.

The Company develops and supports popular embedded operating systems including Windows®, Linux® and VxWorks®.  A number of software tools are available to enhance products for critical embedded applications.  The standard boot firmware can be replaced with a customer configurable Fast Boot package to provide improved boot times. A comprehensive Built-in Test package and board level security package are also available, the latter providing features designed to prevent access to sensitive data.

Jane Annear, Commercial Director, Concurrent Technologies Plc, these commented:

"VME has been a very stable architecture and the launch of these two new processor boards is another proof point demonstrating our commitment to provide our customers with dependable long life-cycle products and upgrade paths, based on the latest technology from Intel, which they can deploy in a wide range of applications and environmental conditions."
