Computershare Limited (ASX:CPU) last Friday completed the acquisition of Strand Business Systems and Strand Enterprises, sister companies that form one of the UK’s leading suppliers of electoral management software and services. The net consideration was GBP 4.85 million (post cash and other liquid assets).

Founded in 1988 in London, Strand provides electoral management software and services to 112 local authorities across the UK. This covers a voting population of over 13 million people.

Stuart Crosby, Computershare’s CEO said: “This acquisition continues Computershare’s strategy of moving into complementary market segments where our existing systems and expertise can provide significant benefits for customers. Strand’s clients stand to benefit from greater investment in staff, systems and processes, as well as a wider technological and service base.”
