APPOINTMENT OF ADDITIONAL NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Computershare Limited (ASX:CPU) announced today that it has appointed Mr. Les Owen to its Board as an additional independent non-executive director.
Mr. Owen was the Group Chief Executive of AXA Asia Pacific Holdings Limited (ASX: AXA) from January 2000 to September 2006. Under Mr. Owen's leadership and quidance AXA undertook a transformation programme which resulted in significant improvements to the group's performance and shareholder value. Prior to his appointment at AXA Asia Pacific Mr. Owen was the Chief Executive of AXA Sun Life plc in the UK. He was also a member of the Global AXA Group Executive Board. Mr Owen is now based in Bristol in the UK, although he will be splitting his time between the UK and Australia and retains significant ties to Melbourne. Mr. Owen is a director of AXA UK and has a wealth of experience in the financial services industry. His appointment strengthens the Company's European board representation.
The Company's Executive Chairman, Mr. Chris Morris, said that Computershare is delighted to have secured Mr. Owen as a Non-Executive Director, particularly with the experience and skills he possesses through many years working in the financial sector.
