Appointment of New Regional Managing Director and Additional Non-Executive Director

Melbourne, 21 May 2003

Computershare today announced the appointment of Mr Rob Chapman as Managing Director, Europe. Mr Chapman will be responsible for all of Computershare's European and South African businesses.

Mr Chapman will report directly to group CEO Chris Morris, and will be focusing on Computershare's existing registry, employee plans and related businesses and will also review opportunities for expanding Computershare's integrated global services offering.

"Rob has an outstanding record of delivering growth in outsourcing businesses similar to Computershare," said Chris Morris. "His combination of operational knowledge, market experience and commercial acumen gives Computershare the expertise to consolidate, and expand, in Europe and South Africa."

Mr Chapman has previously held a variety of executive roles, most notably at EDS Corporation, where he spent ten years. Mr Chapman's most recent role at EDS Corporation involved developing its Business Process Management division in the UK, freland and South Africa.

Computershare also announced the appointment of Mr Tom Butler to the Board as an additional non-executive director. Mr Butler has had very broad European industry experience and most recently held the position of CEO at MSI prior to its successful trade sale to Marconi PLC for in excess of USD 800 million. Prior to his successes at MSI, Mr Butler worked for Origin BV in Eindhoven in the Netherlands where he held the position of CEO and COO and presided over annual sales in excess of USD 1 billion.

Between 1990 and 1996, Mr Butler was employed by EDS Corporation where he ultimately became Group Executive Officer Northern Europe. Annual revenues under Mr Butler's management exceeded USD 1.5 billion. Mr Butler has also been Executive Director, Outsourcing with Andersen Consulting.

Mr Butler has an MBA from Strathclyde University and a BSc from Glasgow University. He has been a Council Member of the Confederation of British Industry and is a Member of the Institute for Mechanical Engineers.
