Adaptation measures at Componenta have mainly ended

The demand outlook in all of Componenta's customer sectors improved during the second quarter of 2010 and the Group's order book at the end of June 2010 was 62% higher than at the corresponding time in the previous year. The adaptation measures taken in production that began towards the end of 2008 have mainly ended as the order book has grown. The voluntary arrangement for a 20% reduction in salary agreed with some 400 key personnel has also ended.

The adaptation measures taken by the Group affected altogether 1,600 people in all the countries where Componenta has operations, namely in Finland, Turkey, the Netherlands and Sweden. The Group utilized all available forms of flexible working with personnel and only made permanent reductions when it had fully utilized all other adaptation measures. The goal was to protect jobs and safeguard the company's competitive standing. This also ensured stable deliveries for customers.

The adaptation measures were carried out in constructive cooperation with personnel which demonstrated the strong commitment of personnel to the company. At the same time they have also made it possible to raise production volumes quickly in response to the growing needs of the market.
