Purchase of own shares

Compass Group PLC announces that, as set out in the Circular to shareholders dated 15 May 2017 in connection with the £1 billion Shareholder Return, it purchased 35 ordinary shares of 10 5/8 pence each at a price of 1,660.00 pence per share on 14 June 2017 through Morgan Stanley & Co. International plc.

Compass Group PLC intends to hold 10 of the purchased ordinary shares in treasury.  The remaining 25 purchased ordinary shares will be cancelled.

Following the above transaction, Compass Group PLC holds 8,701,004 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 1,644,625,086 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
