PLASTIC OMNIUM INERGY TO CREATE ITS NEW WORLD WIDE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT CENTER IN FRANCE

In summer 2014, Plastic Omnium will inaugurate a new international research and development center in Compiègne, for its Inergy Automotive Systems division, the world leader in fuel systems.

This capital expenditure program is in line with the Group's development strategy, which focuses on innovation and international expansion. It also confirms Plastic Omnium's commitment to strengthening its development and innovation activities in France while continuing to support the growth of automobile manufacturers around the world.

Building on the success of ∑-Sigmatech, the R&D center for exterior automotive components near Lyon that opened in 2002 and currently has more than 500 employees, the new center is intended to strengthen and accelerate Plastic Omnium Inergy's capacity for innovation in key areas for the future of the automobile – energy and environmental protection, through the reduction of polluting emissions.

The new center will be built on the existing Inergy Automotive Systems site in Venette near Compiègne, which is close to Roissy Charles de Gaulle airport and thus will facilitate cooperation with global carmakers, the Company's customers.

It will bring together 430 employees currently divided between Venette and Laval in central France, as well as teams from the research and development center in Brussels that is dedicated to electronics. A full range of measures will be deployed to integrate employees, in particular those from the two technical centers in Laval and Brussels.

The goal is for the new innovation, research and development center, which represents an investment of €50 million, to begin expanding its operations almost immediately and to employ approximately 500 people within two years of its opening.

Plastic Omnium will have two R&D centers in France with a combined total of more than 1,000 employees, or 20% of the Company's workforce in France.
