FIRST LEASE PRE-COMMITMENT SECURED FOR OAKDALE WEST

Brickworks is pleased to announce the first lease pre-commitment for Oakdale West Industrial Estate in Kemps Creek, a Joint Venture Industrial Property Trust[1] asset located adjacent to Eastern Creek in Sydney. The lease with Coles Group Limited (ASX: COL) will be for a 66,067m2 22 to 34m high bay facility on 18.7 hectares of land with a 20-year term. The agreement is subject to securing DA and various other associated approvals and has a target practical completion date in January 2022.

The Oakdale West land was sold into the Brickworks Goodman Joint Venture Industrial Property Trust in December 2016. An application for development of the 89-hectare net developable estate was lodged in late 2017 and approval is expected in early 2019. This will allow infrastructure works to commence in mid-2019.

Managing Director of Brickworks, Lindsay Partridge said, “Brickworks is pleased to further strengthen the JV Trust by securing this significant pre-commitment with Coles. On completion, the facility will be the highest value asset owned by the JV Trust. It will provide development profit and further increase the rental return to Brickworks, which continues to expand each year”.
