PRESS RELEASE

Colas Rail awarded contract for the extension of Line 1 on Algiers metro as part of a consortium

As part of a consortium with KOU.G.C., Colas Rail was awarded a contract involving the extension of Line 1 on the Algiers metro between Haï El Badr and El Harrach-Centre stations.

The project includes the construction of the entire transport system and 4 new stations along a total of 4 km of line.

Colas Rail, the project leader, will lay the track and the third rail, in addition to installing electrical supply, low voltage equipment, tunnel ventilation and the ticketing system.

The entire contract value amounts to 85 million euros, slightly more than one half of which is earmarked for Colas Rail.

With work slated to last 23 months, the extension should be operational by November 2014.

Following Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and Los Teques, Venezuela metro projects awarded at the end of 2011, the Algiers contract once again bears witness to Colas Rail's success in the international market.
