PRESS RELEASE
Colas: project to acquire the Société de la Raffinerie de Dunkerque (SRD)
Colas, ExxonMobil and Total are currently studying draft agreements in which Colas would acquire 100% of the capital in the Société de la Raffinerie de Dunkerque, a company that owns a specialty product refinery (bitumen, base oils) and produces roughly 300,000 tons of bitumen each year.
The project must be passed by the Works Council at SRD and precedent conditions remain to be lifted. The acquisition could be finalized during the second half-year of 2009. In order to ensure the continuity of production at the SRD site, Colas would sign an assistance agreement with one of the current partners, notably in terms of supply and technical assistance.
The project is in line with Colas' strategy to boost industrial integration and to secure part of its bitumen supply in France.
