Changes in governance at Colas

At a meeting on May 14, 2019, the Board of Directors of Colas decided to separate the functions of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. Hervé Le Bouc remains Chairman of the Board of Directors. Frédéric Gardès, currently International Managing Director of Colas, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Colas.

A graduate of Ecole Centrale de Paris and the Royal Institute of Technology of Stockholm, Frédéric Gardès, 48, began his career in 1994 in the Bouygues group as a Construction Engineer at Bouygues Offshore. From 2002 to 2011, he continued to pave his way at Saipem in management positions for major international projects. In 2011, he joined Colas as Director of GTOI, a Colas Reunion Island subsidiary. He then took the lead of the Indian Ocean Regional Division in 2013 and was tapped to become Deputy General Manager Northern Europe and Middle East in 2015. Frédéric Gardès was appointed International Managing Director in March 2018.
