PRESS RELEASE Brussels, June 3rd, 2010
Brussels, June 3rd, 2010 (5:45 pm) - United Anodisers, the world leader for aluminium anodising, brought its shareholders together for an ordinary annual general meeting on June 2nd, 2010.
United Anodisers' shareholders adopted the resolutions put forward with a large majority, including the approval of the corporate and consolidated financial statements for the year ended December 31st, 2009.
The ordinary general meeting did not reappoint Mr. Bernard Legrand as a director. Mr. Laurent Chevalier has stood down from his position as a director; a Board meeting will be held on June 23rd for the Directors to appoint a new Chairman of the Board of Directors.
This coming appointment will make it possible to consolidate the governance of the company, which already has three independent directors and is therefore perfectly in line with the governance code in force in Belgium.
Lastly, the extraordinary general meeting was adjourned, since the quorum had not been achieved. A new extraordinary general meeting will be held at 11 am on Wednesday June 24th, 2010. More specifically, it concerns the delegation of powers for the Board of Directors to issue new securities. A notice to attend will be published in the official gazette in Belgium on June 4th and in France on June 9th, 2010.
United Anodisers, a Belgian Group listed on NYSE Euronext Paris Compartment C since June 26th, 1996, is the world's largest architectural and industrial anodiser, specialising in the surface treatment of aluminium extrusions, castings and flat-rolled products.
Anodising is an electrochemical process - electrolysis - that develops a natural and protective exterior layer on aluminium that can be coloured, providing exceptional corrosion protection and/or increased functionality for the metal.
Anodising preserves all the natural and ecological properties of aluminium - it retains its high strength-toweight ratio, non-magnetic properties and exceptional corrosion resistance without any impact on the total and repeated recyclability of the metal.
Anodised aluminium is used across a wide range of architectural, designer, industrial and automotive applications.
