Contract Announcement

MASS awarded extension to UK MOD contract

Cohort, the independent technology group, is pleased to announce that, subject to contract, its subsidiary MASS has been awarded a two-year contract extension by the UK Ministry of Defence to provide training and exercise support to Joint Forces Command (JFC). The extension is worth around £10m and will commence in April 2018. The original contract, awarded following a competition in November 2015, included an option to extend on these terms.

Under the contract MASS provides a comprehensive support service for the design, development and delivery of joint force exercises, together with a Contingent Capability Reporting and Standards system and a Defence Exercise Planning tool. The team has carried out this role since 2000, winning five successive competitive tenders. Over the period we have provided effective training in the range of military tasks from small-scale stabilisation operations to full war-fighting.

Andy Thomis, Chief Executive of Cohort, said:

"This contract reinforces our position as a market leader for large-scale, joint operational training and exercise support. We are delighted that MASS will continue to work with the MOD's Joint Forces Command, building on the Group's deep experience in training and other key roles across defence. This contract award, together with other recent wins, enhances the visibility of future Group revenue."
