APPOINTMENT OF GLEN BOREHAM AM TO THE COCHLEAR LIMITED BOARD
Cochlear Limited, Sydney, 9 December 2014 (ASX:COH)
Cochlear Limited Chairman, Mr Rick Holliday-Smith today announced the appointment of Glen Boreham to the Cochlear Board. Mr Boreham’s appointment will become effective on 1 January 2015.
Mr Boreham has held a number of senior executive roles, most recently including Managing Director of IBM Australia and New Zealand until his resignation in 2011.
Mr Boreham completed his term as the inaugural Chairman of Screen Australia in June 2014 and is currently a Non-Executive Director of Data #3. In addition, Mr Boreham is Chair of the Industry Advisory Board for the University of Technology, Sydney, and Chair of Advance, representing the one million Australians living overseas.
Cochlear Chairman, Mr Rick Holliday-Smith welcomed Mr Boreham’s appointment: “Glen’s experience in a major global information technology corporation and understanding of technology and innovation makes him an important addition to the Board".
Mr Boreham holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney. He was made a Member of the Order of Australia in January 2012 for his services to business and the arts.
Mr Boreham will be a Non-Executive Director and is considered by the Board to be independent.
