COCHLEAR TO VIGOROUSLY DEFEND PATENT INFRINGEMENT COMPLAINT

Cochlear L imited (AS X :COH) to d ay advise d that a co m plaint for patent infrin g ement ha s been filed by Adaptive S onics LLC in the US D istrict Cou r t, Eastern D istrict of Texas (Dall a s). The complaint name s Cochlear L imited and its USA subsidiary C o chlear Am e ricas Corporation (known as Cochlear A mericas) a s defenda n ts. Whilst t he complaint has bee n filed it ha s not been served up o n either c o mpany.

Adaptive S onics LLC alleges that one identified patent has been i n fringed, s p ecifically United State s Patent No 5,473,701 e ntitled “A d aptive Mic r ophone Ar r ay” filed o n 3 Novem b er 1993.

Cochlear b elieves th a t the alleg a tions of inf r ingement a re without m erit and i n tends to vi g orously defend ag a inst the complaint.
