COCHLEAR UPDATE ON NUCLEUS 6 LAUNCH AND TRADING CONDITIONS

Cochle a r Limited ( A SX:COH) has starte d releasing i ts new Nu c leus[®] 6 so u nd proces s or suite of products. The firs t major rele a se event w as at the E uropean S y mposium o n Paediat r ic Cochlea r Implant a tion held i n Istanbul, T urkey in l a te May 20 1 3. Nucleu s 6 is the fi r st of a ran g e of products to be rel e ased base d on a new custom chipset that h a s been in d evelopme n t for over 6 years, a nd contain s significant new functionality im p roving hea r ing perfor m ance and e ase of us e for coc h lear impla n t recipient s of all age s .

The Asian launch o f the Nucl e us 6 started at the Int e rnational F ederation o f Oto-RhinoLaryng o logical So c ieties (IFOS) in Kore a in the first days of Ju n e. The N o rth Americ a n launch of Nucleu s 6 starts in Canada in June.

Cochle a r has rece i ved regula t ory appro v als for Nuc l eus 6 in K o rea and C a nada. Re g ulatory approv a l for sale of Nucleus 6 in Europe is expecte d imminentl y . Approv a l for sale i n the USA i s anticip a ted later this calendar year.

Nucleu s 6 include s the indust r y’s only auditory scene classifier , which analyses the s o und environment and a utomaticall y applies t h e best sou n d process i ng technol o gy. In add i tion it contain s direct wir e less conn e ctivity, integrated hea r ing aid functionality a n d the sma l lest and most w a ter resista n t behind t h e ear sou n d process o r on the m a rket. Trading Update

Second half F13 s a les have b een weaker ahead of t his much a nticipated launch and slower market growth in t h e USA. C o chlear no w anticipates Net Profi t After Tax f or the full y ear ended 30[th] Ju n e 2013 to b e in the ra n ge of $13 0 to $135 m illion.

It is ant i cipated th a t the final y ear divide n d will be at least $1.2 5 per share, which con f irms our confide n ce in the f u ture.
