TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

Close Brothers Group plc (the 'Company') announces that on 19 April 2017 it transferred 309 ordinary shares of 25 pence each from treasury to participants in its employee share plans. The transfer price was 931 pence. Following the transfer of these shares, the Company holds 476,912 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 150,166,816 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
