TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

Close Brothers Group plc (the 'Company') announces that on 3 April 2017 it transferred 710 ordinary shares of 25 pence each from treasury to participants in its employee share plans. The transfer price was 931 pence. Following the transfer of these shares, the Company holds 478,187 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 150,165,541 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
