TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

Close Brothers Group plc (the 'Company') announces that on 23 October 2013 it transferred 18,912 ordinary shares of 25 pence each from treasury to participants in its employee share plans.  The transfer price was nil pence.  Following the transfer of these shares, the Company holds 2,532,189 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 148,076,223 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
