TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

Close Brothers Group plc (the 'Company') announces that on 30 September 2013 it transferred 4,125 ordinary shares of 25 pence each from treasury to participants in its employee share plans.  The transfer price was 710.23 pence. Following the transfer of these shares, the Company holds 2,841,412 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 147,767,000 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
