  • ClearVue gains immediate leverage into the residential property construction market

7 June 2018: Smart building material company ClearVue Technologies Limited (ASX: CPV) (“ClearVue” or “the Company”) is pleased to announce it has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), with Mirreco Holdings Pty Ltd (“Mirreco”) which will see hemp-based sustainable housing manufacturer Mirreco exclusively use ClearVue solarPV integrated window technology.

Under the MOU ClearVue will become the exclusive supplier of solar window products, initially for smallscale housing units, or “micro homes”, created by Mirreco, following the successful development of a prototype unit.

Mirreco has developed an environmentally-friendly, carbon-negative industrial hemp product which is used as panelling material to create eco-friendly homes and other structures. Mirreco’s unique processing system captures and stores carbon dioxide indefinitely, potentially revolutionising current practices within the building industry.

The prototype is expected to reach completion in Q4 2018.

Following the completion of the prototype, the companies will work together in an exclusive partnering and supply agreement, the full terms of which are to be agreed as soon as reasonably practical after Mirreco and ClearVue have successfully completed the trial home.

Display Unit: A conceptual design of a Mirreco micro home incorporating ClearVue window technology

The display unit will incorporate a mixture of environmentally friendly and cost-efficient living solutions and is intended to provide ClearVue with immediate leverage into the residential property construction market.

Mirreco’s display unit has been designed by leading architectural practice Arcforms and the floors, walls and roof will be made using hemp biomass.

ClearVue’s solar PV window technology uses micro and nano particles incorporated into the lamination layer of glass to redirect UV and IR rays from the sun to solar cells embedded around the edge of the glass panels.

The industrial hemp market continues to grow, with a number of countries either investigating or in the process of establishing hemp crops on an industrial scale in order to take advantage of the economic, environmental and social opportunities that the plant presents.

Hemp has the ability to sequester and store carbon dioxide not only during its short growth cycle, but during the manufacturing stage when it can be processed into bio-composite materials and countless other products.

The MOU follows the recent announcement that ClearVue has commenced Australian Standards (AS) certification testing of its glass product, which is required before being able to sell the technology

commercially in Australia and to introduce ClearVue’s products into Mirreco’s homes and commercial solutions.

Commenting on the signing of the MOU, ClearVue Executive Chairman Victor Rosenberg said, “ The MOU between ClearVue and Mirreco is a highly encouraging signal that there is significant and immediate interest in our technology within the building and construction industry.

“ClearVue has a strong market-leading position in the construction of glass that utilises otherwise wasted energy, converting it into solar electricity – all the while appearing as a transparent window.

“Following our listing on the ASX, we are dedicated to commercialising our technology and the MOU with Mirreco is an important first step in establishing a growing order-book.”

Mirreco is an emerging company in Western Australia’s developing hemp industry, and will be processing hemp biomass to manufacture building materials and other innovative products.
