Board Appointment – John Downes of LendLease UK

18 October 2021: Smart building materials company ClearVue Technologies Limited (ASX:CPV) ( ClearVue or the Company ) continues to strengthen its Board as part of the global commercialisation of its ground-breaking glazing technology, with the appointment of Mr John Downes as a Non-Executive Director of the Company.

Mr. Downes is currently the Global Head of Façade Supply Chain at LendLease based in its London, United Kingdom office and brings approximately 30 years’ experience in glazing and façade systems and construction project management to the ClearVue board.

In his current role Mr Downes leads the unit that supports all façade related aspects of the global LendLease real estate construction, development and investment business. LendLease has a key strategic objective of achieving ‘Absolute Carbon Zero’ by 2040 across its business and the façade unit plays a key role in helping deliver on that mission. LendLease, under the guidance of Mr Downes, sees the ClearVue technology as a way to assist it reaching its 2040 goals and the energy efficiency targets being set for its construction projects around the globe.

ClearVue has developed an advanced technology-based glazing solution that creates energy efficient buildings. The patented solar glazing technology, which prevents unwanted solar radiation from entering a window and converts it into electricity using photovoltaic cells, cuts heating and cooling costs and improves the energy efficiency rating of buildings.

In addition to his extensive practical experience, Mr Downes has a MSc Façade Engineering ~~f~~ rom the University of Bath, is a Fellow of the Society of Façade Engineers and a sponsor’s board member of the Centre for Window and Cladding Technology where he chairs the sub-committee on Sustainability in Facades.
