CITIC Envirotech awarded contract for a phase 2 BOT Project in Mengzhou City, Henan Province, China

As at the date of this announcement, the executive directors of CITIC Limited are Mr Chang Zhenming (Chairman), Mr Wang Jiong, Ms Li Qingping and Mr Pu Jian; the non-executive directors of CITIC Limited are Mr Yang Jinming, Mr Liu Yeqiao, Mr Song Kangle, Ms Yan Shuqin, Mr Liu Zhongyuan and Mr Yang Xiaoping; and the independent non-executive directors of CITIC Limited are Mr Francis Siu Wai Keung, Dr Xu Jinwu, Mr Anthony Francis Neoh, Ms Lee Boo Jin, Mr Noriharu Fujita and Mr Paul Chow Man Yiu.

CITIC ENVIROTECH AWARDED CONTRACT FOR A PHASE 2 BOT PROJECT IN MENGZHOU CITY, HENAN PROVINCE, CHINA

The Board of Directors (“Board”) of CITIC Envirotech Ltd (“CEL”, “Group” or “Company”) is pleased to announce that the Group was awarded a RMB 54 million phase 2 wastewater treatment expansion project with a design capacity of 25,000 m3/day in Mengzhou City, Henan Province.

CEL has been operating phase 1 of the 25,000 m3/day wastewater treatment plant in Mengzhou since 2008 through its wholly-owned subsidiary CITIC Envirotech Water Resource (Mengzhou) Co., Ltd. Following the completion of phase 2, the total design capacity for the 2 phases will be 50,000 m3/day. Construction will commence immediately and the project is expected to be completed within one year.

The project comes with a service concession of 25 years and a minimum offtake guaranteed by the government is as follows:

Minimum Offtake:	Year 1	Year 2	Year 3 onwards
Water Volume	15,000 m3/day	20,000 m3/day	25,000 m3/day

The capital injection of the above project is funded from the proceeds of the issuance of the US$180,000,000 5.45 per cent. senior perpetual securities pursuant to its US$750,000,000 multicurrency perpetual securities issuance programme and bank financing.

The above investment has no material effect on the net tangible assets per share or earnings per share of the Company for the financial year ending 31 December 2017.

None of the directors or controlling shareholders of the Company has an interest, direct or indirect in the above investment.
